Play with Nvidia Cards

Tweaks for Nvidia Cards (Integrated Ones too)

If you like tweaking the card you can do so using coolbits.
I had a nvidia 2 integrated video on my Asus motherboard and finally i got the transparency and other effects to work, and here it is how it was done:

Go to Hkey_local_machine - software - nvidia corporation - global (check the thumbnail below)

Right Click and choose new - Dword
Name the new key - coolbits and press enter.
right click on the the new key again and click modify and type the value 3
Then go to display properties by doing so
right click my computer - properties - settings advance and then choose your card and then enable the effects.
You will get a icon for nvidia in the system tray and from there you can enable to Nview desktop as well

After doing so you can get the transparency effects and all working without any errors.

Try it happy Tweaking and overclocking.

Adding repositeries to Ubuntu

I have started using ubuntu recently, this was the first thing i learned i.e adding Repositories:

Repositories are nothing but free software divided into 4 categories :
Main (officially supported software), Restricted (supported software that is not available under a completely free license), Universe (community-maintained, i.e. not officially supported software) and Multiverse (software that is "not free").

Open a terminal and write
sudo /etc/apt/sources.list

deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu dapper universe multiverse
deb-src http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu dapper universe multiverse

Add these two line to your source.list and save the changes.

This Will add allmost everything you need.

Enjoy the software,This will be helpfull for newbees like me.

Hi Everyone

Let start with some basic tweaking for windows xp.

You can rename My Computer icon on desktop wondering how here it is :

[Start] [Run] [Regedit]
Registry Key: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\ {20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}
Data Type: REG_EXPAND_SZ [Expandable String Value] // Value Name: LocalizedString
Rename the value [LocalizedString] to [LocalizedString.old]
Modify/Create the Value Name [LocalizedString] according to the Value Data listed below.
Create a REG_EXPAND_SZ [Expandable String Value] and name it [LocalizedString]
Value Data for [LocalizedString]: [%USERNAME% on %COMPUTERNAME%]
Exit Registry and Reboot
